Step by step
Backlink exchange software, shown as one order from basket to live link
This walkthrough follows a single order the way an account manager meets it: the brief, the basket, the content mode, the payment and the status list.
Eight steps, in the order you will click them
- 1
1. Log in and open the marketplace
Sign in at the account page, then go to find links. New to the network? Create an account from the same page.
- 2
2. Filter by cluster needs
Use Domain Rating, organic traffic, referring domains, niche, language and price. The pillar gets stricter filters than the supporting posts.
- 3
3. Add rows to the basket
Adding does not charge anything. Name the target URL and the keyword for each row.
- 4
4. Choose the content mode
Automatic (target URL and keyword), your own prompt or instructions, or your own finished article.
- 5
5. Review the basket
The account lead checks the total, the targets and the anchors against the cluster cap.
- 6
6. Pay from the balance
The balance is topped up in the dashboard. Invoices and proforma invoices are available for finance.
- 7
7. Wait for the placement
It usually goes live within about 24 hours of payment.
- 8
8. Read the status
Open ordered links and copy the live URLs into the cluster report.
The three content modes, side by side
| Mode | You provide | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automatic | Target URL and keyword | Cheap supporting posts | AI-written article, so read it once and tell the client |
| Your own prompt | Instructions on angle and tone | Pillar placements with a defined message | Vague prompts give vague text |
| Your own article | A finished piece | Strict brand or compliance clients | You carry the editing time |
An invented order, line by line
Take a made-up agency with one pillar called 'a buyer's guide to standing desks' and four supporting posts. The lead sets a cap of $400 for the cluster.
The account manager filters donors by language and niche, adds two strong rows for the pillar and one cheap row for each post, and lands at $372 in the basket. Those numbers are an example only.
The lead trims a row, the total drops under the cap, and the basket is paid. Total time inside the marketplace, in this example, is about forty minutes.
Most of that time goes on choosing rows, not on clicking.
Where agencies lose a day
Three places, mostly. The target URL was a redirect, the anchor was not agreed with the client, or the balance was empty at the moment the lead approved.
Top up first. The balance is added in the dashboard and not through the API, so a nightly script cannot rescue a basket at 6 pm.
Check the URL by pasting it in a browser before it goes in the basket.
Teams that automate can use the REST API with a Bearer key, or let an agent such as ChatGPT or Claude work over MCP. An agent can browse donors and fill a basket. Paying the basket stays a human step.
Rule of thumb
Keep the basket small enough to review in one sitting
A basket you can read in ten minutes gets real scrutiny, while a basket of eighty rows gets a skim. Split big plans by cluster, and pay each basket as it is approved, not all at once at month end.
- One basket per cluster
- Write the content mode next to each row
- Top up the balance before approval
Before you press pay
- Target URLs open directly with a 200, not through a redirect
- Anchors match the plan from the cluster budget
- The total sits under the cap for this cluster
- The content mode is written next to every row
- The client knows that automatic articles are AI-written
